Chemical Safety
Chemical safety has been in the news over the last week. Here are some tips to make chemical use in your garden safer:
- Check expiration dates (or date of manufacture stamps) to see what you are using is in date.
- Choose the least toxic chemical available for the given job.
- Mix chemicals as per listed instructions, following all safety procedures.
- Do not store chemicals either diluted or not in unnamed/labeled containers.
- Use all specified PPE (personal protection equipment) specified in the instructions.
- Use only chemicals specified for your use (ie. no rural chemicals in urban areas)
