* Make use of the spring rain and feed your lawn. * Only topdress if necessary to make level. Take care with imported soil top dressing as it may contain weeds. We like Supertop Lawn Dressing by Amgrow. * Feed with s complete fertiliser in early April and early September. Spring rains will take the nutrient down into the root system and your lawn will green up in no time at all. * The best way to get your lawn ready for summer is to feed it in spring. Feeding now will turn your lawn green and strengthen the grass so it is more able to resist disease, patchiness, moss and weeds. Feeding will help toughen your lawn ready for the onslaught of summer. Here is a summary of the many lawn fertilisers on nursery shelves. Synthetic granular fertilisers e.g Shirley's No. 17 are chemical fertilizers which contain a mix of major and trace elements and work well and quickly to green up your lawn. Combination fertilisers e.g Amgrow Organix Eco 88 and Munns Golf Course Green lawn fertilizer combine both organic and synthetic fertiliser ingredients in one product. Slow release lawn foods include Scotts Lawn Builder, a granular fertiliser designed to release nutrients slowly. Liquid hose-on fertilisers, such as Yates Liquid Evergreen Lawn Food and Nitrosol LiquidPlant Food are fast acting and while they don't offer long term soil nutrition, they're great for that quick green up
