What's inside?

Spring is the exciting season of renewal. After what has been a long, cold and wet winter, we are all keen to get out into thes unshine and pick, dig and grow. With soaring living costs, it’s wise to be self-sufficient so we’re helping you grow a wide range of ‘easy to grow’ seasonal vegetables including salad greens and tomatoes.

Sandra takes us on a journey through her expanding cutting garden and Paul Urquhart takes us for a walk through his spring border. Angie Thomas discusses her life story so far and her plans to lead garden tours. Colin Barlow shares his passion for pots with tips on growing lilies. Colin also heads abroad, sharing fond memories of UK and the Chelsea Flower Show. As our tour programme expands in 2023, we ask Margaret Long to take us around her stunning Christchurch garden, Frensham.

Finally, we bid farewell to a legend, Kate Stanley, who passed away recently leaving a huge gap in the rose fraternity. We try to answer your tricky questions. And we try to inspire you in your spring garden.
